The Arizona Diamonds won 12 straight by beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 in 10 innings.
The twelve wins are a new record for the Diamond franchise, while for the Dodgers it was their fifth straight loss and tenth in their last eleven games.
For the Dodgers, the loss lead to their worst streak of the season.
After winning 21 consecutive series, the Dodgers have lost four in a row — to the Diamondbacks twice, the San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers.
In the tenth inning, Brandon Drury hit a tripple that made Diamonds score two runs with Justin Turner’s pitch that could not be controlled Dodgers catcher Yasmani Grandal.
“We were part of history,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said. “You can’t believe it after it keeps happening — second, third and finally the fourth time. It was amazing. J.D. works as hard as anybody at his swing, perfecting his craft, and he deserves that moment.”
Pedro Baez was the losing pitcher, with a 3-4 record and failed again for the second consecutive night. He gave away two passports in a row, opening the tenth, prompting fans ‘cheers, who remembered the night of Monday when he relieved and did four runs with four hits in a row in the Dodgers’ 13-0 loss to the same Diamonds.
For the Diamondbacks, Ketel Marte 3-1.
For the Dodgers, the Cuban Yasmani Grandal of 4-1 with an annotated one. The Mexican Adrián González of 3-1.
