AUSTIN, TX – 02-01-2018 (Press Release Jet) — Hellas Construction today announced the promotion of Tyler Pufahl to Chief Estimator. His vast amount of knowledge in estimating and project management, along with a relentless dedication to his team has helped him earn this new position. He will be leading and coaching a team of estimators responsible for estimating the costs of components, labor, and service needed to complete each Hellas sports construction project.

“He is a workhorse and another of our most dedicated employees,â€ said President and CEO Reed J. Seaton. “He brings a strong work ethic and a broad knowledge of all that is involved in the construction process to the team. He is always open to learning and striving to be better. We are glad to have him on our team.â€ Mr. Pufahl’s broad knowledge of different scopes of work in the construction industry enabled him to join Hellas Construction in June of 2013 as Senior Estimator, relocating his family from Kansas to take on the new challenge of working in the sports construction field. â€œI was working for a small family-owned construction company and this was an opportunity to be a part of a nationwide company and to see if I had what it takes to succeed,â€ Pufahl said. “I grew up participating in various sports and with my background in construction, I felt like it was a great fit. I was intrigued by the opportunity.â€ â€œIt was difficult to leave home, but I was able to better provide for my family here in Texas, while still begin able to challenge myself and continue to learn in an industry that I love,â€ Pufahl said. He feels like his success at Hellas is due in part to his continuous drive to keep improving. He has advice for others trying to find ways to improve. “Don’t rely on the compliments of others to make you further your skills and love your job. Instead work hard, keep learning, and keep challenging yourself,â€ said Pufahl. “Facing and then meeting challenges is so much more rewarding. You must never stop improving or challenging yourself.â€Pufahl is excited about his new position and the new opportunity to teach and help others. â€œI always wanted to be a teacher growing up. I feel like being in a position to teach is better than being in a position of power. It’s a new challenge and I love challenges,â€ Pufahl said.About Hellas Construction, Inc. headquartered in Austin, TX, is one of the largest sports construction contractors in the United States. Brad grew up in a small town in northern Iowa. He studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married his wife one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children.
