Mr. Newman graduated from the New York University School of Law in 1969, and was recognized as a matrimonial law attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. He was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 1975, New York in 1970, the United States District Court–District of New Jersey in 1975, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York in 1970, and in the United States Tax Court in 1976. Mr. Newman is a member of the Family Law Executive Committee of New Jersey State Bar, the Monmouth County Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association, the American Judges Association, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Mercer County Judges Association, the Mercer County Bar Association, the Monmouth County Judges Association, and the Monmouth County Domestic Violence Working Group.
Mr. Newman decided to pursue a career in the legal industry in college. As a political science major as an undergrad, he acted as a judge on the student mock court at his college. This experience led him to pursue the position professionally, and he is now recognized as a leader in the legal industry. For his outstanding contributions to his field, he was listed in Super Lawyers from 2005 to 2018, and was featured in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who in Emerging Leaders. The Family Law Committee also recognized his outstanding professionalism with the Family Lawyer of the Year Award in 2016. He is married to Lee Galen, and they have five children: Danielle Cari, Matthew Evan, Merrie Lee, Cindy Joy, and Bradley Curtis, as well as eight grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing.
