We are excited that SCHOTT chose to rely upon LSPT's experience with high-energy laser systems to supply their new inspection laser.

LSP Technologies, Inc. (LSPT) has built and delivered a state-of-the-art Laser Glass Damage Testing (LGDT) system to SCHOTT North America, Inc. in Duryea, PA. SCHOTT will use this system to inspect their phosphate laser glass for platinum inclusions.
A leading manufacturer of laser and optical glass, SCHOTT required a new glass inspection system late in 2015. SCHOTT contracted with LSPT who provided contract inspection services while LSPT built them a new integrated inspection system.
“We are excited that SCHOTT chose to rely upon LSPT’s experience with high-energy laser systems to supply their new inspection laser, said David Lahrman, Vice President of Business Development for LSP Technologies, Inc. “Our successful delivery of this cutting-edge system further enhances the 21-year relationship between SCHOTT and LSPT, and we look forward to a continued partnership with them, now both as a customer and a supplier.
LSPT has delivered a next-generation diode-pumped, 1.4J, YAG, flat-top beam laser system that operates at up to 60Hz. It has a custom-designed computer control system with data collection and analysis, and is fully integrated with an automated glass slab handling system capable of holding slabs up to 70 kg.
SCHOTT has long been at the forefront of optical glass manufacturing technology, and continues to meet a wide variety of challenges for the laser glass industry. Platinum-particle-free laser glass from SCHOTT enables high laser fluence operation of phosphate laser glass components without laser-induced damage. LSPT’s Laser Glass Damage Testing laser system enables SCHOTT to complete the manufacturing process with in-house qualification of the glass.
LSP Technologies and SCHOTT have a long working relationship dating back to 1995, when LSPT began building laser peening systems that employ SCHOTT LG-760 and APG-1 glass rods. Over the past 21 years, LSPT has purchased laser glass rods for nearly a dozen laser peening and Laser Bond Inspection systems exclusively from SCHOTT.
