Press Release updated: Feb 6, 2018 09:35 EST

LEWES, Del., February 6, 2018 – Nancy and David Lurty, REALTORS®, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty, have joined The Expert Network©, an invitation-only service for distinguished professionals. The Lurtys have been chosen as a Distinguished Real Estate Professionalâ„¢ based on peer reviews and ratings, dozens of recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout their career.

The Lurtys outshines others in their field due to their educational background, numerous awards and recognitions, and career longevity. Recognized as Five Star REALTORS® by Delaware Today Magazine, the Lurtys brings a wealth of knowledge to their industry. When asked about their respective entries into real estate, Nancy Lurty said:

“In ‘76, David took a job with IBM, which had us moving all over the country. I began selling real estate in 1984, and I was able to do that as we moved from Illinois to Texas, then to California and New Jersey, and finally back to Delaware in ‘97. Soon after that, he semi-retired from IBM and joined me in real estate.â€

We do everything together, and we approach things a little bit differently. We even tell our clients that when they get an offer, or when we're talking to them about listing the house, they may get two different opinions of what they should do. We make recommendations based on our informed opinions, because sometimes there are different ways to solve the same problem.

In 2018 they received the Chairman's Circle Gold Award, which places Nancy and David’s production in the top two percent of Berkshire Hathaway HomesServices agents nationwide. They are also Distinguished Realtors™, recognized as part of the top three percent of Realtors nationally.

As thought-leaders in their field, working as a team comes naturally to David and Nancy Lurty, and it allows them to play to their strengths. In the office, David handles much of the analytic work and forecasting for the business, while Nancy adeptly handles phone conversations with their clients. When it comes to open houses, the Lurtys show properties together, and they are both present at every client meeting. David and Nancy explain that this approach is unusual in the industry, but works to the Lurtys’ advantage—and helps their clients, too:

“We do everything together, and we approach things a little bit differently. We even tell our clients that when they get an offer, or when we’re talking to them about listing the house, they may get two different opinions of what they should do. We make recommendations based on our informed opinions, because sometimes there are different ways to solve the same problem.â€

David and Nancy Lurty are members of the National Association of Realtors and the Delaware Association of Realtors. They both hold Accredited Buyer’s Representative® (ABR) and e-PRO® designations. David holds a B.S. from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Bachelor of Science and Nancy holds a B.A. from Marietta College.

Brad Bennett

Brad grew up in a small town in northern Iowa. He studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married his wife one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children.
