United States, Illinois, Joliet – 11-28-2019 (PRDistribution.com) — Environmental activist Scott Presler was Chicago last weekend with a plan to clean tons of trash from city streets in Englewood. Brandon Harris the Executive director of Freedom Movement USA as well as Ethan Slyder the head of the Illinois log cabin Republican’s helped to organize and plan the event.
“This is an act of love,” Scott Presler, fresh off campaigns where he and teams of volunteers sweep up an average of 40 tons of trash in Baltimore and California, said in a release. “The best way to show love is through actions, not words.”
Presler, who boasts at least 374,000 followers, was here on Nov. 23, and Pastor Corey Brooks, Brandon Harris and Ethan Slyder were on hand to greet him. Harris originally reached out to Presler in August after his own instagram had hit over 30,000 followers hoping Presler would come out. “ I sent him a message and he was all about coming out” stated Harris. It all came together with ease after that.
Congressional Candidate Jim Oberweis helped the crew secure the location due to his relationship with Pastor Corey Brooks. Over 250 volunteers showed up throught the day and they cleaned up over 10 tons of trash from the streets. In addition to cleaning up trash, and uniting the community, Presler, Harris and Slyder hope to help raise funds for Project H.O.O.D., an acronym for Helping Others Obtain Destiny, which has a goal of building a center dedicated to various youth programs.
On Saturday Harris made an announcement that the crew would be back to Englewood December, 7th 2019 to feed the homeless and provide clothing and firewood to the community! Melissa Boatman his right hand will also be moving forward with the team stating she would be behind the event as well as Ethan Slyder. You can check that event out by clicking the link below.
