SCOTTSDALE, AZ, February 05, 2018 — Solugenix Corporation announced today that it had placed 26th in the Phoenix Business Journal's annual ranking of largest Corporate Volunteer Programs.
Phoenix Business Journal, the source for business news in Phoenix metro, ranked top firms for their corporate volunteer hours. The journal provides exclusive news through print and online media to an audience of about 60,000 readers. Corporations with a large presence in the Valley like Intel, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo & Co., also ranked high on the list. These companies often have between 10,000 and 15,000 employees in the Phoenix area and contribute tens of thousands of volunteer hours annually.
Despite the smaller Arizona presence, Solugenix's work on the Arizona Science Bowl garnered a spot on the list. The Arizona Science Bowl brings together students from middle and high schools across Arizona to face-off in fast-paced question and answer rounds on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, energy, space science, physics, and math. Over 50 school teams compete annually, with the winning team awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National Science Bowl.
Solugenix has continued to sponsor the Science Bowl each year because of their dedication to furthering STEM education in Arizona. With more than four decades in the technology industry, they understand the importance of developing a solid technology workforce. Whether it's providing dedicated support centers, staffing quality teams, or delivering business service solutions, Solugenix's STEM workforce is at the forefront of what they do.
Because of this, sponsorship and organization of the Arizona Science Bowl for the past 11 years has been a natural initiative for the company. Volunteerism has always been a core value at Solugenix, and the STEM competition has allowed the company to give back in a meaningful way. As Solugenix CEO Shashi Jasthi said, “To make Arizona a global leader in business, there is no greater need than to build a skilled workforce, that is why we continue making significant time and financial investment in supporting this event.” Solugenix was honored by the listing, and remains dedicated to developing the next generation of STEM leaders in Arizona.
