Stadia Ventures has announced a new strategic alliance with LaunchPad City that will bring the Stadia Ventures Sports Accelerator program to Frisco, Texas beginning in Fall 2018. The Accelerator program will feature a new, esports focused track as well as Stadia's sports track.

Stadia Ventures helps sports and now esports startups accelerate their development through a combination of equity investment, intensive mentoring, and connections to leading sports, esports, media, entertainment and global brands.

Twice each year, Stadia Ventures selects up to five startups to receive up to a $100k cash investment and to participate as part of a cohort of companies in a fourteen week, immersive business development program. Beginning in Fall 2018, cohort sessions will be held in Frisco, Texas as well as St. Louis, Missouri.

“We are very excited to be working with LaunchPad City to bring our sports accelerator program to Frisco, Texas and launch our first ever esports track,” says Tim Hayden, Managing Director of Stadia Ventures. “The esports industry is still in its infancy and the ability to launch an esports accelerator and invest in early stage companies creates a unique opportunity. We are excited to immerse our startups in this growing and global ecosystem.”

“Our vision for LaunchPad City has always included a sports and esports theme,” says Nahid Giga, Co-Founder, LaunchPad City. “As we researched viable options for a focused accelerator it was clear that Stadia's program and pedigree was the global leader. We are excited to partner with Stadia and launch the esports accelerator in Frisco this fall.”

In addition to the fourteen week accelerator program, Stadia Ventures will also host two other events in the City of Frisco in 2018:

“    In August, Stadia will host its Demo Day for its Spring 2018 cohort, bringing together 200+ guests to celebrate the acceleration of the Spring 2018 companies.

“    To be held concurrently with Demo Day, Stadia will host its Fall 2018 Finalist Pitch Day, inviting the Top 10 finalists for the Fall 2018 cohort class to pitch in front of a judging panel of 100+ current and former senior sports business leaders from all over the world.

Past mentors, advisors and attendees have included current and former leaders from brands, leagues and teams such as Adidas, Under Armour, Twitch, Blue Star Sports, Chicago Cubs, Dallas Stars, FC Dallas, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Minor League Baseball, MLBAM, NBA, New Balance, NFLPA, Nike, Orlando Magic, PGA of America, Sporting KC, Sportradar, STATS, St. Louis Blues, St. Louis Cardinals, U.S. Soccer, Wilson, and many more.
