TMS Neuro Institute has launched a new website at for patients to learn about Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS) for depression. There, patients can review important information and schedule appointments to receive the treatment.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS) was approved by the FDA in October 2008 and has been proven to be highly effective for treating depression. TMS uses magnetic pulses, which are similar in strength to magnetic resonance imaging or MRI machines, to electrically stimulate nerve cells in small underactive regions of the brain that are thought to assist in controlling the patient's mood.

By stimulating these areas TMS, can help to relieve the symptoms of depression. TMS therapy is also recommended as a treatment because it is noninvasive and doesn't require medication. Therefore, patients don't have to worry about the side effects that generally come along with taking antidepressant medications, such as nausea, memory loss or weight gain.

Each TMS session last approximately 30-40 minutes. At TMS Neuro Institute, a standard treatment generally consists of 30 sessions over a period of 5 to 6 weeks. TMS Neuro Institute works closely with patients to help them to afford the costs of the treatment and accepts several types of insurance.

The website also includes a Frequently Asked Questions section which provides answers to common questions about TMS to inform patients about the risks and benefits of this treatment. Patients can also complete a questionnaire on the website to help them determine if TMS is the right treatment option for them. Finally, the website offers information about the TMS Neuro Institute to help patients decide if this clinic is where they would like to go to receive the treatment.

With a new website available to help patients learn about the treatment options that are available for depression, TMS Neuro Institute aims to make noninvasive methods of depression treatment more accessible to patients. Patients can use the new website to book at appointment or to contact TMS Neuro Institute with any questions about TMS. To learn more about TMS Neuro Institute and to view the new website, go to
